Making custom sample holders
for the muon veto cryostat insert
The muon veto cryostat insert
can accept special purpose sample holders attached to the
sample rod.
The thermometers
are not part of the sample holder, but are held in a copper
themometry block, to which the sample holder is attached.

The sample holder attaches to the block by 4 screws, #2-56, in the
pattern shown. Actually, since the threaded holes are part of the sample
holder, equivalent metric screws could be used if you want to annoy
everybody else.
The face of the mounting block is nominally 24 mm (0.95 inch) from the
beam center.
