During the 1999 muSR conference, I realized that it was a prime opportunity to easily and cheaply survey members of the muSR community as to their software needs. I hastily wrote this survey and distributed to conference attendees. As a consequence, the questions are not as thought out as they could have been, some are a bit biased, some caused confusion, and there were signs of ``survey fatigue" by the last page. Despite this, 64 people did fill out part or all of the questionnaire, of which 21 added comments. I hope that the results are useful to facility managers and of interest to all!
