Experimental Apparatus [ca. 1995]

These experiments were carried out on the M13 and M20 beamlines at the TRIUMF 500 MeV cyclotron in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

The various resources of TRIUMF's µSR User Facility, including the ``Omni'' general-purpose µSR spectrometer and the vertical He gas flow cryostat, were essential for the project.

In addition, a cold finger cryostat was designed especially for producing cryocrystals in situ.

Surface muons from either M20 or M13 are stopped in the sample, which is condensed and then frozen inside the 1" square sample cell at the tip of the cold finger cryostat.
